FFA Programs

The Supervised Agricultural Experience Program is education. It is hands-on, real-life agricultural career preparation experiences tied to agricultural science curriculum, student aptitudes, interests and career and educational goals and to the agricultural industry. It ties together the entire agricultural education experience. Each agricultural education should have an SAE that is documented in an approved recordbook.
Career Development Events
These events are designed to help a member prepare for a career in agriculture by testing and challenging the student's technical, leadership, interpersonal and teamwork skills as well as their knowledge of the subject matter. CDEs answer the question, "When will I use this knowledge in the real world?"

FFA members can earn degrees as they progress through the phases of their leadership, academic and career skills development.
The Discovery Degree, Greenhand Degree and Chapter FFA Degree are all earned at the chapter level.
State FFA Associations recognize their top members with a State FFA Degree.
The National FFA Organization awards top members from each state with the American FFA Degree.
How it All Fits Together
FFA members can earn degrees as they progress through the phases of their leadership, academic and career skills development. SAE's are a key part of the FFA Degree paths. LDEs and CDEs, through various competitions, offer opportunities to expand a member's abilities and understanding; enables them to build communication and team skills; all while gaining practical application. All of these help reinforce academic learning.
Leadership Development Events

Leadership Development Events focus on creating situations for members to demonstrate their abilities in public speaking, decision making, communication and their knowledge of agriculture and the FFA organization. Team and individual events are used to reinforce what is taught in agricultural science classrooms.
All LDE events have elimination rounds at the district and area before the state level competition.
